Dr. Ashraf Abboud Elbatal completed his MBBCh from the Faculty of Medicine at Al-Azhar University – Cairo, Egypt in 2001. In 2009, he completed his Master’s Degree in Pediatrics from the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University – Cairo, Egypt.
Dr. Ashraf started his medical practice as a House Officer at Said Galal University Hospital in 2002. A year later, he became a Neonatal and Pediatrics ICU Resident at the General Organization for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes – Cairo, Egypt. In 2010, he was posted as a CSICU Specialist for Pediatrics and Neonatal Care at Saud Al-Babtain Cardiac Centre, Ministry of Health – Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In 2011, he worked as a Neonatal ICU Specialist at Al-Sahel Teaching Hospital – Cairo, Egypt. In 2012, he became a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Specialist at Farwaniya Teaching Hopspital – Ministry of Health Al Farwaniya Governorate – Kuwait. In 2015, he moved to the UAE and continued his clinical practice as a Pediatrics ICU Specialist in a government rehabilitation hospital in Al Ain. In 2016, he worked as a Pediatric Specialist in a large private medical facility in Abu Dhabi. In 2021, he became a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Specialist at SEHA’s Tawam Hospital. Currently, he is the Lead Physician at salmaCHILDRENS.
Dr. Ashraf’s areas of expertise include managing critically ill and chronically affected neonates, infants, and children at Level III PICU; neonatal emergencies and common neonatal and pediatric diseases including delivery room management, extreme neonates, respiratory, cardiac, neurological, infectious, gastrointestinal, hematological, renal, and post-operative conditions.
Dr. Ashraf is a member of Egyptian Society for Neonatal and Preterm Care, Egyptian Medical Syndicate, and Saudi Commission for Health Specialist. He is a licensed Pediatric Specialist by Kuwait Health Authority and by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Ashraf speaks Arabic and English.
