Dr. Mohamed Helal Eldesouky completed his MBBCh from the Faculty of Medicine at Cairo University in 1996. In 2008, he completed his MSc in Pediatrics at the same university. He qualified for the Membership of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health – UK part I in 2012 and part II in 2013. In 2021, he qualified for the European Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Helal started his medical practice as a House Officer in Family Medicine, Surgery, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Pediatrics at Cairo University Hospital in 1997. In 2000, he became a Registrar of Pediatrics and Neonatology at the Nasser Institute Hospital. In 2002, he trained in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit then in Pediatric Oncology Unit at the same medical facility. In 2004, he worked as a Registrar of Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Neonatology at a children’s hospital in his home country.
In 2009, Dr. Helal moved to Kuwait and became a Pediatric Registrar at the Ministry of Health’s Al Jahra Hospital. In 2017, he moved to the UAE and worked as a Pediatric ICU Specialist in a large private tertiary hospital in Abu Dhabi.
Dr. Helal’s areas of expertise include pediatric critical care, pediatric neurology, pediatric metabolic diseases, cardiopulmonary resuscitation in cases such as epilepsy, asthma, shock, respiratory failure, and other emergencies.
Dr. Helal is well-trained in Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. He has trained under European Resuscitation Council and American Heart Association.
Dr. Helal speaks Arabic and English.
