Dr. Subashini Baskaran

Dr. Subashini Baskaran has over 10 years of clinical experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in tertiary medical facilities.  She completed her MBBS at IRT Perundurai Medical College Hospital and Research Center, India in 1999. She received her CRRI from the same university in 2001.  In 2004, she completed her Diploma in Child Health at the Institute of Child Health and Hospital, Madras Medical College, India.  In 2009, she qualified her DNB in Pediatrics at Apollo Hospital, India.  She became a member of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health – UK in 2015.  In 2019, she received her EPIC Diploma from the European Board of Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care.

Dr. Subashini started her medical practice as a Junior Resident in Pediatrics at the Institute of Child Health, India in 2002.  In 2004, she worked as a Specialist Pediatrician in Logidasan Hospital.  In 2006, she was posted as DNB Resident Trainee at Apollo Hospital.  In 2008, she worked as a Clinical Associate at the Institute of Child Health.  In 2011, she became a Senior Resident in Pediatrics of the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences and Research at the Employee State Insurance Corporation.  In 2013, she worked as an Associate Consultant in Pediatrics at KVT Specialty Hospital.  In 2014, she became a Fellow Registrar in PICU at the Institute of Child Health Dr. MGR Medical University.  Prior to joining Salma Rehabilitation Hospital, she worked as a Specialist in PICU at a well-known children’s hospital in Dubai. 

Dr. Subashini’s areas of expertise include pediatric intensive care, cardiovascular intensive care, management of post-operative cardiac cases requiring extracorporeal support and renal replacement therapy, pediatric acute conditions, acute exacerbation of asthma, status epilepticus, acute encephalopathy, diabetic keto acidosis, septic shock, ARDS, cardiac failure, oncologic emergencies, AKI, RRT, pediatric ventilation, long-term care of children with complex chronic issues.

Dr. Subashini is well-trained in Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support by the American Heart Association, PICU Basic, PICU Refresher Course.  To her credit, she has published several researches in peer-reviewed journals.  Currently, she is an Adjunct Clinical Lecturer at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
